Some of those they are old even and it's like they will live forever. No heart attacks or weird illnesses for them. He had misgivings with the internet and all the tech and some of those I think are true ones. Nothing Compares is one of my favorite songs, I think I have it posted on here somewhere, and he had many written elsewhere, I think of the Bangles. I wonder if his mother was a narcissist maybe why he turned to art. Yeah it's only April, makes you wonder who will be next :(Five Hundred Pound Peephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05862707335431442713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-650289478442133391.post-32478152241750628492016-04-22T05:36:27.469-07:002016-04-22T05:36:27.469-07:00He had no interest in the Internet, cell phones &q...He had no interest in the Internet, cell phones "hell no!" or any kind of technology of this sort. (No doubt the people around him took care of that "problem.") He dismissed it as a "fad." But the technology he used in the studio was quite impressive. He was a very prolific song writer and gave "Nohing Compares" to Sinead. The part of this song, "maybe you're just like my mother, she's never satisfied" caught me immediately as well. He would have his staff find his music where ever it appeared and poof it immediately.
This has been a lousy year for deaths of some great singer/songwriters. And it's only April.
TW

Tundra Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12262066568878267648noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-650289478442133391.post-69339720505612015212016-04-21T17:34:22.322-07:002016-04-21T17:34:22.322-07:00Someone told me that he wrote Time after Time by C...Someone told me that he wrote Time after Time by Cyndi Lauper but I can't anything to back it up.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJEIJAPMPvIAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-650289478442133391.post-81790249334819100362016-04-21T17:19:09.712-07:002016-04-21T17:19:09.712-07:00Yeah that's it. I was going to do a post too and I tried to find a song that wasn't some warmed over slop from some guy living in his mothers basement. They were all remixes that were little more than hatchet jobs on the original or karaoke or live performances from the super bowl he did. As an artist I don't think he would have been happy with any of the versions that were crowding out his original releases. Do you mean the song by Sinead written by Prince? It was a good song. I am sure I missed some good artists just with time and money constraints.Five Hundred Pound Peephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05862707335431442713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-650289478442133391.post-15338244089943323792016-04-21T14:28:14.202-07:002016-04-21T14:28:14.202-07:00I changed my mind about him after I found out noth...I changed my mind about him after I found out nothing compares2you was his and this was back in music snob days when if a song didn't fit a narrow window of what I deemed acceptable I would dismiss it out of hand. I missed out on a lot of good music because of my narrow minded thinking. Well I didn't miss it I just found myself with a lot of catching up to do. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
