Yes they will tell us to build bridges not realizing many of us tried for decades and they built walls, abused and punished us every step of the way. Trying to make peace with them is making yourself open to being ripped apart, and some of us went down that road too many times. Outsiders would tell us to go back and build bridges, but you can't convey to them how they build walls faster than we can build a bridge.
