Don't Fall For It Jimmy!
Jimmy's a con man on Better Call Saul but at this stage of the show, he has some conscience, a conscience that tells him to "help" his brother, who seems to be a high functioning narcissist or sociopath perfecting the art of "screwing others" over.
It's sad to watch Jimmy's character always bending over backwards to help Chuck, even refusing to get Chuck committed for his severe mental problems which includes avoiding all electricity and covering himself and his house in tin foil to keep out the electrical and radio waves as Chuck does everything to undermind him and his girlfriend Kim Wexler. In this scene, Chuck gets Jimmy to confess to fraud, pretending to be sicker, crazier and like he has "given up".
Sadly for wicked people like this, the fact of conscience in another can be the "weak" point they exploit. Chuck probably even faked having catonia for 20 hours! That's pretty hard core. Watching this show can be interesting lessons on how human evil operates. Breaking Bad definitely was a show showing a man descending into full blown sociopathy.
If I could live my life over I would convert to "do it them before they do it to you". It would have saved time and made my life much easier and if you think every one is out to get you you are closer to right and farther from wrong. And I could probably sleep well at night doing it.
ReplyDeleteI have had thoughts like that too but then wouldn't we become just like them, evil to the core? Spiritually I wonder what this world will do to me sometimes, it's such a rotten place, while the churches say this world is a lovely place at least the Bible doesn't. There's a scene too I tried to find where it shows Saul Goodman/Jimmy McGill as a little kid and this guy taking advantage of his shopkeeper father says Hey kid in this life you are either a wolf or a sheep! I do know I would have been smarter about things and not so trusting that's for sure.
DeletePart of what bothers me in the long run is that the people that crowd around sucking up to our parents are usually people from decent families. So while we are fighting a "two front" war, our opponents have the luxury of having a normal family to support them and for them to hide behind. I was thinking about how my ex would scream bloody murder if I resorted to the tactics she did and as soon as I had that thought it hit me she would never have to worry about her parents or siblings knifing her in the back because her family is normal and would never do to her what her and my mother did to me because they are a decent and trustworthy bunch over there. Which allowed her not have to look over her shoulder to protect her self from them like I had to do with my mother. Does that make sense? I was easy pickings for my ex as long as my mother was holding me down. If I called my ex's parents and said I want to come over and go to a lawyer and you sign your estate over to me the first call they made would be to my ex telling her I was crazy. And if they called me and said we have grown to hate our kids and want to leave our estate to you I would have called one of them and said you need to go do a well check because your mom/dad has slipped a cog and needs to be looked in to. My ex and mom just started in on their plots like the witches in "Macbeth"
ReplyDeleteYes they have normal families and never would get it in a million years. They don't understand having relatives who stab you in the back and who hate you. Yes your ex never had to worry about that never. Even now as I age and meant other disabled people, they had supports maybe in far better condition then me, I never could dream of. I don't think I will ever get over the feeling of feeling alone in this world save for my husband this is the heritage of the faux family I grew up with. You had two of them tag teaming you. you know like when a bully distracts you so the other one can get a sucker punch, this is far worse.
DeleteOne is bad but with multiple numbers of them joined up with enablers cheering from the side lines one gets screwed. It is interesting to me how people will say I am horrible and never will say one negative word to narcs even for the most egregious of behaviors. LOL maybe you should have called her parents but yeah they would have called you crazy. A normal person would not take an inheritance from someone disinherited. That's psycho city stuff. They were the witches in "Macbeth". I have the two witches who sabotaged me for decades. Not even allowed to be an real aunt, nothing. Tag teamed narcs is the worse. One in one's life is bad enough, several is horrible.
My ex's family really were nice honest people. I don't get where her moral bankruptcy comes from. Although if you looked at my mother compared to the rest of us the same thing can be said of us. My mom was so crooked she could eat soup with a spoon but everyone else was honest to a fault. And outsiders though my mother hung the moon.
ReplyDeleteMake that eat soup with a corkscrew.......Sorry!
DeleteWas she adopted? Maybe she crawled out of a hell pit from somewhere else or maybe a bad seed? I know not everyone believes in bad seeds but maybe I've seen too many sociopaths to wonder if a few are made. They may make a spiritual decision at a certain point nonetheless. Yeah how do they get so morally bankrupt. Many people end up almost in the streets and or actually in them and could have turned "bad" and "Criminal" and started "hustling" but my mother grew up on a farm surrounded by endless relatives, she missed the depression, she was a child in the 50s where did the propensity for evil come from? She had her butt kissed her entire life and all her work and attempts to get jobs paid off. Same for your mother, she had a good body, and your father seemed like a decent fellow outside his mind slavery to her and had a job and she had two kids and still decided to act and live like scum. I can understand people who go "bad" under pressure like someone born into a dungheap or severe urban environment, who learns to steal to eat but our mothers, had no excuse. LOL about eating soup with a corkscrew. What's worse for me is in my case because of circumstances, my mother is seen as the "angel" and always right.
DeleteAbout my ex filling her pockets from our farm money. My ex knows every detail about my mother and she knows she stole from people that had a horrific upbringing.
ReplyDeleteYour ex probably was pleased as punch, knowing she had found a soulmate she could learn some tricks from.
DeleteI wish I was adopted. I want to recoil from any genetics that played any part of my creation. After I found out my ex controls the unused graves in the family plot I went through and trashed any picture I could find of her. Even if my father was in them. I guess that's a bit passive aggressive but I'll cop to it and my mother never let her mask slip for a second. It must be exhausting to live like Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard and always be ready for your close up.
ReplyDeleteI understand. I don't think I am related to mine but my body is so different. That's sick! She got even the unused grave plots? WOW. What was she supposed to do with those? She's not even a blood relative. I can see why you did away with her pictures. :(
DeleteThey are located in a cemetery that has a secondary market for plots. They can run as high as $10,000 a spot. And the funeral home will broker a deal with people that get stuck with odd plots that don't fit in to the original scheme. My grandmother bought 6, two rows of 3 that were head to foot and head to foot and head to foot so we got left with the 3rd one out because the first two pairs got taken by married couples and left an odd grave on the end. They just were not convenient anymore. They'll try and sell them to someone younger whose family was not expecting to suddenly be needing a grave and might only be able to afford the one. Ours were bought in the 50's when my grandfather died. And before the graves were as landlocked as they are now. There is one major highway and two main roads that you can pull off of and get back on in a flash. That sounds a bit tacky but it would be a selling point to be buried up at the front and not have to drive all over to find them. They have the monuments flush with the ground and if you don't know where you are going it's easy to get lost.

I went down the day I found out my mother was dead and stood there because I couldn't believe she had died months before and we were just finding out. I haven't been back since and I won't be back again either.
Wow those are some expensive plots. The funeral industry became more of a racket. Sorry your family lost plots your grandmother bought. Narcs will do evil things even to people in death, Oh I understand more findable graves. You probably had to make sure your mother was dead for your own piece of mind. I understand why you won't go back. I feel pissed knowing Aunt Scapegoat got booted out of the cemetery. Doubt they will even bury the ashes. I've heard no word from any of the creeps regarding a memorial service, maybe my guess there never would be one is true.
DeleteI left out the best part. You can call it poetic justice or cosmic irony, but my mother is buried in the same cemetery as the guy her and her boyfriend robbed and murdered back in the 60's is buried in. The guy went back home to Missouri after he paroled out but he is somewhere in the same place. It's huge and I don't care enough to track them down so for now it will remain a mystery.
ReplyDeleteWow that is strange but if they all came from the same area it makes sense. yeah that other guy didn't get life? Well due to age he is probably long ago dead and burning in hell for murder unless he repented. Narcs don't care about eternity or death. Even the ones who had tons of family members die like the head creep matriarch, they all think they are going to live forever.
