Protesting in the Rain
I went out today to go protest. They are doing a short noon-time protest in front of the local Congressman's office. It was in the 50s but raining like crazy. It's rare for it to be that warm in February, it's supposed to drop back down to the 20s by the end of the week. I was able to sit outside with my umbrella on my walker holding the protest sign above with around 60 other people in my town who are protesting Trump and his various programs and plots. One man had a sign against DeVos. I drew a poster against Trump as "Lucy" holding a football for Charlie Brown, the "American voter" to kick. Charlie Brown is thinking "Maybe this time things will work". Trump promises "I'll drain the swamp!". Well we have seen how that has gone with his multiple Goldman Sachs appointees. If I am living under the highway underpass one day because of Republican leaders who hate poor people, at least I will know I spoke out for myself.
What Trump and his minions (flying monkeys?) are trying to do looks exactly like an MN on a tear to bring down anything and everything, to sow chaos because if it's not about him or if it has ever gotten in his way or defied him or not adulated him - it must be destroyed. Good for you for protesting. I don't want to but I'll be doing same at March for Science. I sincerely hope you don't end up losing what you need to live a safe life.
ReplyDeleteYes us ACONs are scared watching this guy. Keep in mind I AGREE with limiting some immigration [how come they had to punish people literally on the way here, and not call a day in advance--I even think that was about putting people in their place and narcdom and ending TPP, and the rest but the man is a madman to me. I even told my husband I was scared of a man holding the nuclear football who in a narc rage could blow up the whole country if he felt "unloved" enough. Some of us ACONs are petrified seeing the worse NPDs can do. I am glad you are standing up for Science. I have already lost once what I need to live a safe life--in Chicago. I guess I'm sad it may be going that way again. I plan to get a passport and if I start to go literally hungry [no charity food] or we cannot pay rent any longer, or have a roof over our head, then we will make the break for Canada. Some may think I am kidding but this place has turned into enough of a madhouse. I'm too deaf to learn a new language and/or adapt to speaking and hearing Spanish which is the only other language I semi-know and I am far from fluent.
DeleteThey don't accept disable people in Canada. Google it. Seriously. We are at the bottom.
ReplyDeleteYes sadly I found this out. I found out a doctor wanted to move to Canada and had a disabled daughter and he was turned down. We are at the bottom you are right.
