Old House

I took this picture a couple of weeks ago. I have an interest in taking pictures of old houses and ruins. The shut up windows could serve as a metaphor of sorts. One can tell this is very old housing stock from the 1800s.

  1. Beautiful picture. I love the way the colors are all muted. I love old houses too. And I love old things in general (as long as theyre not from my own past). I read once that people who are attracted to antique and vintage and basically things that speak of the past are more likely than people who aren't to have had childhood trauma. I'm guessing it's not based on much evidence-wise, but it interested me. Like am I subconsciously searching for a new past or a past that seems untainted or even beautiful?

    1. Thanks anon, and regarding the colors too. I like old stuff, and like antiques. If I ever won the Lotto I'd be hitting the antique stores first, maybe I should photograph some of my few antiques and post them here. I like vintage the best. New doesn't do it for me. I wonder about the psychological realities of desiring a new past or a beautiful past. While I know I need modern medical care to live, I often have felt like I was born in the wrong time. I have a huge attraction to the past.
