Double-meaning Mother's Day Card?

Maybe an ACON [adult child of a narcissist] at Hallmark Enterprises covertly came up with this one.....[well if we are to just look at the front cover here.]  Of course the same emotions or feelings aren't even there. If you are a ACON contact or no contact, this is a day I know can be hard for you, and I'm praying.

  1. We have too much compassion to give them what they gave us. If we act like them people think we are crazy.

    1. I agree Q, we do. If we acted like them people wouldn't believe it anyway.

  3. Lucy was continually jerking the football away from Charlie Brown. Maybe she was a burgeoning CB "mini-me?" ;)

    1. LOL, while some friends joke I look like Lucy Van Pelt, the guy who wrote the book Schultz and Peanuts theorized that Lucy represented his first narcissitic wife who was loud and bossy, and/or even darker parts of Schultz's personality. All theories, I am no sure how much truth to it or not.

  4. Yes, definitely a double-meaning mother's day card. Would have made more sense to have Charlie Brown on the cover since he was the down-trodden one, but he's not spiteful like Lucy. Lucy always reminded me of my sister, she even looks like her. And like Lucy, she plays the psychiatrist to make herself feel powerful. Ha! That must have been another trait Schulz saw in his first narcissistic wife. That's a great card. Thanks for sharing it.

  5. I had someone in the mental health field tell me a lot of psychiatrists are narcissists. I'm sure there are exceptions but hmmmmm....Sorry your sister looks like Lucy. I used to be called Lucy via the family, hmm projection much? Yes Charlie Brown on the cover would do it. Isn't Charlie the quintessential scapegoat at least among the kids? Well at least his home life with his praise of his father didn't seem too bad, though Sally bordered on a bit of narcissism. I'm a Peanuts fanatic. LOL Yeah I have thought about all the characters to this extent. :P I used to be buried in Peanuts comics to escape my family and learned to read via them. Schultz was much happier with the second wife, she seemed to adore him. I wonder about a woman married to a multi-millionaire cartoonist where nothing was still ever good enough.....if that author of Schultz and Peanuts presented everything accurately....
