Eat Healthy

Don't eat the junk food, it won't satisfy hunger but I always wonder why the most healthy food is the most expensive. Perhaps they can make it cheaper? Boneless skinless Chicken breasts are often 10 dollars or more a package around here too, and it's crazy.  Food costs are getting higher and higher too.

  2. Good, I wasn't sure is I was just too dumb to get it!Lol!
Yes, It is so aggravating that you can by a big cart of cheap junk for the same price as a small cart of healthy food.It also makes it harder for the poor to eat healthy.
I think they should just quit making junk. Then maybe all the subsidies will trickle down to the healthy foods!

    1. It's getting worse out there too. The food prices are getting higher. We are very food insecure this week, I am going to a food pantry on Thursday and am cooking some chicken I got from another one earlier in the month. The junk makes me ill. It's hard to find decent food anymore. The food pantries are carb heavy but the one I'm going to at least has some vegetables. With diabetes it's hard. I don't have always what I should, if that makes sense. Makes me laugh at all the diet advice, the foods they suggest are so beyond my sphere it's not funny.

  5. I wonder if this is why I've gotten so used to junk food that I feel insecure without it. I wonder if Dr. Oz ever covered the cost and how to handle cost among all his dieting advice.

They used to teach college students how to live on less, what food is healthy and economical, and I heard that they don't do that anymore.

    1. Their diets are jokes, maybe they gave up teaching the college students because eating the only cheap healthy foods, most young people wouldn't do. How many times can you eat broccoli and beans?

    2. This reminds me of when someone tried to 30$ a week menu over at hillbilly housewife, there is a website or was one. Well, anyway, she tried it, and if you don't like "butterbeans" forget it. lol Well, she tried it and she was saying that it was the worst experience of her life, for her and hubby. Then someone else said that she is making fun of the poor people who have to eat that way all the time. But to me, she was only giving her personal experience, and I felt that she wasn't making fun of poor people, she was emphasizing with them.

I mean to me this was more real and raw, than an untouched emotion, of I don''t know what it feels like, don't want to know, so I'll just feel for you from afar.

    3. I just got a bad blood sugar, the worse one ever in the morning on insulin 158, I ate some food from food pantries, but it's too many carbs and not my usual food. I had some V8 juice that was good but the chicken quarters have too much oil, maybe it is the stress of it all. I hate diabetes. My doctor said I am good at tracking it but a lot of people give up, I can see why they do and say to hell with it. Taking one of those numbers in the morning is like waiting to be slapped. Was eating some mini peppers bad, one of the good foods I had last night? The Hillbilly housewife carb rich menu--pancakes and carbs for all, would kill me. Then they ask why poor people are so sick?

I had to eat chicken cut up into spaghetti, again not my normal food, for dinner I did have an old stalk of broccoli I put in there and last old red pepper...I don't think she was making fun of the poor, but it was for desperation. Butter beans even send my sugars to the stratosphere. Yeah you don't want to know what this is like.

    4. I just ate some old lettuce with a can of green beans on it, stripped off some of the chicken making sure for no skin and more of the peppers and a little bit of dressing for breakfast. There's my Hillybilly Housewife, don't die of diabetes while poorer then crap meal. :p

I figured I jacked my sugar too worrying and being very busy yesterday sitting up. This body seems to want to perpetually lay in bed. I have to ask the doctor about that one.
