What Are We Eating?

A lot of food out there is just bad, and frozen food seems among the worse. A couple months ago I got some frozen meals at a food pantry, they were ones that claimed to be "healthy" and ate one of them, it was so tasteless and just bad.  These had less of the chemicals, but more and more I think a lot of food is awful.

Food pantries pass out usually the most carby and sugar-laden food. If you want to make your own barbecued chicken using boneless skinless chicken breasts, that's some real money nowadays. Hmmm trying to find barbecue sauce that doesn't have high fructose corn syrup as the first ingredient will be another overwhelming challenge. Potatoes which I am allergic too and corn seems shoved down Americans throats constantly too.  You almost can't avoid them. Corn for me is guaranteed higher blood sugars. The food pantries pass out a lot more cans of corn then they do other vegetables at a 10-1 ratio.

I try to avoid frozen food like the plague, but I eat the rare one and well most of them are disappointing. Amy's has some good meals but then around here those are double and triple the price. I remember how the old TV dinners tasted and know the food they sell now is not the same. Well McDonalds even changed in taste as they cheapened the food. People's health is suffering from the false food.

  1. You say TV dinners and I say spare tiles for the heat shield on the space shuttle wings. Potato potahto.

    1. LOL, no doubt. I remember eating some Banquet chicken too, years ago never tasted like regular chicken and wonder what they did to it.

  2. It's down memory lane, seeing those retro-Swanson TV dinners. We never had them at home, but they always looked cool as a child. Kind of like TANG, the orange drink & those TANG snack sticks too. And now we are dealing with GMO. When I return to my country of origin shortly, I need to eat non-GMO only. My body can't handle Frankenfoods!

    1. Tang was gross but compared to today's Franken Food, it was nothing...I hope you can return to your country of orgin and get some decent food. Us Americans are starving for real food. I believe GMO is affecting people even changing body shapes and more. I have noticed people just seem "different" and not just fat people or other ill people and I believe it is having a major influence. I haven't been able to avoid GMO food as much as usual lately, kind of difficult though I try to cook from scratch as much as it is possible. This time of year it's hard to get enough good vegetables.

  3. Peep, I agree, between the GMOs, chemtrails, vaccinations,& handing out Rxs like candy, the population is being dumbed down...gradually, entering zombie land. With my autoimmune disorder, I cannot tolerate GMOs at all. My digestive tract gets very sick within hours. I need to eat proteins that are not GM or have been fed GMO grains. I will seek grass-fed everything & organic when I return. Yes, it is very difficult to avoid GM in the US.

    1. Yes we are all being poisoned like crazy. It's so wrong. The GMOS make my stomach hurt too and digestion goes right off. Even if I eat the wrong type of bread or crackers. I hope you can get grass fed and organic foods. All I know is that the organic stuff tastes a lot better. I am glad you get to leave the USA, with you know who becoming president, half of us wish we could move to Canada tommorow.

    2. Hi Peep, actually I'm in a foreign country returning to my country of origin which happens to be GMO-land....your country:).Yep, better live across the street from a Whole Foods or Trader Joes so I can at least eat. The days are evil & it is turbulent everywhere. It is becoming unsafe where I am. The Lord is prompting me to return. In addition, a single women residing in a foreign land has a target on her back. The narcs come out of the woodwork since one is a new shiny toy. Also, vulnerable not always knowing how everything functions. I would rather be in my country at this point. But I don't have high expectations. I'm focusing on the author & finisher of our faith; He did tell us all about these difficult times...

    3. Oh it's unsafe where you are, so sorry to hear that. I know some Americans we dream of escape, but problem is a lot of the rest of the world is WORSE. If this place goes under there will be nowhere good. England is turning against it's disabled and seems to be going Republican. My husband tells me Europe has a lot more RULES then America especially Germany, he was over there in the 90s so should know. I think the world is going mad. Canadians have told me to rethink my idea of life in Canada being some Utopia. [I saw some guy on Vice Payday show living in some trailer that was far crummier then my modest apt working some oil rig job paying huge rent] Yes in many cultures too women are not left alone. American women don't realize how it can be worldwide and we are fortunate to walk in peace in many places here even while on their own. Its true, that it would be much harder not knowing how things function or social rules or actually other rules. I hope you can make it back soon. Find a good town with organic foods. If I hit the Lotto, we have a giant organic food store 15 miles away, it's a bit far, but I wish I could afford food at that place everyday. Yes have God take you where you need to be. I think the world is getting crazier everywhere.

    4. when I say Republican, I mean "right wing" like our political party. There seems to be an intense war against the disabled in England that is kind of scary, I belong to disabled and other boards, that are international in scope.

    5. Thanks, Peep. I'm flying tomorrow with the real " Kittiestravel":). Where I reside is like the frog in the lukewarm water with the heat being turned up...much has occurred here and it will only being getting worse. Yes, it is everywhere. Btw,Canada is full of GMO food too.

    6. Sorry it's getting worse there. I have a friend in Australia as well, not sure where you are at but he has described things worsening there as well. Sorry to hear Canada has opened the door to GMO food. I can tell from news from England they are slamming down on the disabled and housing costs at least in urban areas are far worse then here. My husband once told me our apartment in England would cost three times the amount, I said are they paid more and he shook his head.

    8. Have a safe flight, it does sound like you will be relieved to be "home" and in a familiar place. :)

  4. Its too bad you are allergic to potatoes, they are the most cost efficient and nutritious food out there. In fact, you can live entirely off of potatoes, the Irish did. When they were given corn, because of the potato blight, they died.

Yes, that is one of my favorites. I like a frozen dinner by myself, cause I thought it was a full course meal, after a busy day. Its so sad that even in this day and age of very busy people, there is no good easy food anymore.

    1. Yeah potatoes are cheap too and there are a lot of foods I can't eat that potatoes are in. What is funny is I was told I was part Irish by the Queen Spider minions. LOL I surely can't be can I? Being allergic to potatoes. :P

Yeah it is so hard to find good easy food and now if it is they jack the price up according to how good it is.
