Act On Obesity?

This isn't a bad video explaining some of the problems with obesity, but I think Ethicon may be related to weight loss surgery and bariatric surgeons and seems to be a surgical supply company of some sort. That's kind of sad. Well the weight loss surgeries aren't changing the set points either given the number of people that regain the weight back some years in.

  1. I saw this video several years ago, and thought it was a scam. Not sure it the "doctor" had correct information. Feel sorry for fat and midsized people who have been bombarded with messages that they need to lose weight in order to be loved or successful in life. :(

    1. they are trying to sell weight loss surgery, so I do think it is scam now. Sadly many fat people are just tired, the diets and WLS are not working.

  2. I only recently saw a five year old posting by my FaceBook friend Ragen Chastain about *mandatory* weight loss surgery: https://danceswithfat.wordpress.com/2011/03/29/mandatory-weight-loss-surgery/

    1. I know too many people who have died of it. Including one friend who was 500lbs [mostly had cancer based lymphedema in her lower body] and who died within the year. I have nutritional deficients NOW so what would that surgery do? I had a year of puking and digestive illness that I am still traumatized from, the doctors were able to cure it [dozens of uric acid kidney stones] with two medications so going out puking--I puke very easily as the norm if I feel a bit ill is not my cup of tea. Also I've noticed so many have massive weight gains. The whole surgery is designed too around everyone being who is fat being an eating addict. What if you are fat on normal food? I had a turkey sandwich this morning, some slices of green pepper and 1 hard boiled egg. So this surgery is supposed to make me skinny? How? The side effects are so bad and they are worse for the supersized too.
