Tim's Vermeer

This movie looks very interesting. I know of the technique to use projectors at least for a line tracing in realistic paintings, but this sounds like something far beyond that in the days before photography. Well the artists WERE the photographers back then.

  2. I didn't watch it, because I love Vemeer;and I thought it might wreck it for me. I'm like that with books and movies too though.

  3. This must have been such a vindication for David Hockney, whose lectures about Vermeer's use of the Camera Obscura were badly received. That artists use tools shouldn't disillusion anyone. Audrey Flack, one of the greatest realists the USA produced, was VERY upfront about using an Artograph for her preliminary drawing on canvas.
