183 Year Old Tortoise: The World's Oldest Living Land Creature

  1. Awesome, but I thought they got a lot older than that. I have an older friend that has had this turtle for 40 years. Her son got him when he was five and now the son is married. She kept the turtle. No one knows how long the turtle will live. She might have to will it to someone.

She also has a 19 year old cat. You'd think she is making this up, but I know for a fact she isn't.

    1. LOL she probably better provide for her turtle. What kind is it? is it a smaller turtle. Yes that is pretty long lived. I have heard of 19 year old cats before, rare but it happens usually well taken care of. She must be a good pet owner.

  2. It is a paint turtle. Moral of the story, "Don't get your child a turtle." lol

That cat of hers beats up all the cats in the neighbourhood. It won't stay indoors. She is very good with her pets.

If she leaves me something in her will, I'll probably know what it is. lol

    1. You may get the turtle. LOL Weird about her cat. Wonder why the cat is so tough taking lessons from the stay alive at all costs turtle?

  3. Peep reminds me of those tortoises -- tough, implacable, digging their way through the sand and back into the water! Like you say, though -- take care of your turtle. --Mr. Peep
