The Life and Times of a 500 Pound Woman.
I like her dress and the decor too! But I think the dress is poofed out below the waist so she looks fatter than she is.
Definitely the dresses were poofed out. She looks like a low-mid sized woman, size 18-20?
Dear Peeps and Friends, because clothing was expensive back then, I wonder if the dresses were made in a manner where they could be enlarged as the woman gained weight with age. Or even yet another baby on the way.
I wonder too....back then you wore the same clothes longer too, less changing of outfits.
Back then a few extra pounds were considered a sign of prosperity.....At least it was for men.
Yeah I am not sure if they bugged women about weight. I think you could be midsized and okay but obviously getting in the buggy and mere functioning would end at 300lbs. Everything was so much smaller.
Yup, I'd say about 18-20 is right.I do love really old pictures. What is it about them that is so fascinating. Maybe it's like time travel, because we can't, but it makes us feel like we are!
I have this talent of guessing size and weight. Why wouldn't I? I've been at all of them. LOL I love the old pictures too, and yes there is the time travel aspect to it all.
