  1. I like her dress and the decor too! But I think the dress is poofed out below the waist so she looks fatter than she is.

    1. Definitely the dresses were poofed out. She looks like a low-mid sized woman, size 18-20?

    2. Dear Peeps and Friends, because clothing was expensive back then, I wonder if the dresses were made in a manner where they could be enlarged as the woman gained weight with age. Or even yet another baby on the way.

    3. I wonder too....back then you wore the same clothes longer too, less changing of outfits.

  2. Back then a few extra pounds were considered a sign of prosperity.....At least it was for men.

    1. Yeah I am not sure if they bugged women about weight. I think you could be midsized and okay but obviously getting in the buggy and mere functioning would end at 300lbs. Everything was so much smaller.

  3. Yup, I'd say about 18-20 is right.
I do love really old pictures. What is it about them that is so fascinating. Maybe it's like time travel, because we can't, but it makes us feel like we are!

    1. I have this talent of guessing size and weight. Why wouldn't I? I've been at all of them. LOL I love the old pictures too, and yes there is the time travel aspect to it all.
