Five Hundred Pound Peep Comic-Zine #2
A Peep Learns to Fly
This is the second comic zine in a three-part series: based on the blog, Five Hundred Pound Peep: The Life & Times Of A 500-Pound Woman, on which she recounted the story of her life in comic form. Peep's comics serve as the snapshot of her life, times and struggles as a super-sized woman in America today.
Part Two: A Peep Learns to Fly, takes us through Peep's junior high days into college and her early career. You'll see her early struggles with a dysfunctional family, size discrimination, junior and high school, being an art major and the struggle to launch. This issue is 43 pp., and comes to you on 8.5" x 11" Xeroxed paper, with a white color card stock cover, straight from the author's drawing table -- and into your hands! What more could you ask?
Look for the rest of the story in Part Three: Peep Escapes Various Cages which takes us into Peep's middle adulthood.
Here is some great feedback on the first comic, I greatly appreciated:
I love the comic! The drawings really tell the story well and my fave scene is the one you put on the cover - the lunch attack. I love the victorious flavor of the whole thing in the face of small mindedness all around you. Thank you very much! Looking forward to the next installment of your comic. -------
