America The Obese: Is There A Multibillion Dollar Conspiracy To Make Sure Americans Stay Overweight?
I don't agree with him that a healthy lifestyle will make someone automatically thin, some people who do everything they can still struggle, but he is correct about what they are pouring into the food.

So Now Exercise Doesn't Work?
"That’s not a fluke. Our waistlines aren’t expanding because people aren’t exercising intelligently or vigorously enough. You don’t need a new personal trainer, another Insanity workout video or a more aggressive CrossFit regimen. What you need is the truth, and here it is:
Exercise — no matter how many gym memberships you buy or how often you wear your Fitbit — won’t make you lose weight.
The idea that our obesity epidemic is caused by sedentary lifestyles has spread widely over the past few decades, spurring a multibillion-dollar industry that pitches gadgets and gimmicks promising to walk, run and kickbox you to a slim figure. But those pitches are based on a myth. Physical activity has a multitude of health benefits — it reduces the risk of heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and possibly even cancer — but weight loss is not one of them.
A growing body of scientific evidence shows that exercise alone has almost no effect on weight loss, as two sports scientists and I described in a recenteditorial in the British Journal of Sports Medicine. For one, researchers who reviewed surveys of millions of American adults found that physical activity increased between 2001 and 2009, particularly in counties in Kentucky, Georgia and Florida. But the rise in exercise was matched by an increase in obesity in almost every county studied. There were even more striking results in a 2011 study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, which found that people who simply dieted experienced greater weight loss than those who combined diet and exercise."
This is an odd admission, so now fat people aren't lazy? You mean you can't burn it off?

What if Obesity Has Nothing to Do with Overeating?
"Peter Attia, MD, once judged patients who were overweight or obese until, despite exercising three or four hours a day and following the food pyramid to the letter, he gained a significant amount of weight and developed metabolic syndrome. As he explains in this recently posted TEDMED talk, the experience motivated him to radically change his diet, helped him lose 40 pounds, and greatly shifted his perspective on the conventional wisdom of nutrition. And he became almost maniacally obsessed in trying to understand the real relationship between obesity and insulin resistance.
Watch Attia’s talk to find out how he’s working with a team of researchers with competing hypotheses on the cause of the nation’s obesity epidemic to understand how the various foods we consume affect our bodies – and how use this information can be used to help people make sustainable lifestyle changes."
He basically questions the paradigm. "What if obesity is a coping mechanism for a far more sinister problem undergoing the cell?"
I think INSULIN RESISTANCE causes obesity. I was tested as having very high insulin resistance. It actually is a diagnosis that went along with my severe PCOS. [Hair-An syndrome]. In my case, I just do not have the Lipedema messing me up weight wise but OTHER illnesses.
"Is it possible that insulin resistance causes obesity?"
He questions the paradigm of how this is switched around and he asks:
"What if being obese means we are blaming the victims"?
Maybe it's not just the grains but toxicity in this world? Maybe another process is creating severe insulin resistance in people leading to obesity? I think they should look outside the "diets". I wish I could write him an email and may do so.
I believe outside factors are impacting metabolisms. Look for something in the environment. No one chooses to be diabetic. Many of us are scared because our bodies are beyond control. Our bodies laugh at us while conventional wisdoms fails us.
He seems like a sincere man and I am glad someone is thinking outside the box.

The Rest of the World Makes Fun of America for Fat
Language warning on these.....
I've seen people on message boards and websites, talk about how fat Americans are and how disgusting. Many make fun of us. Thinness is such the norm for many countries, they do not understand how easily obesity comes here and that includes Europe where they have all the modern technology, cars, subways. Sadly they blame us instead of realizing how badly our food is being adulterated and filled with chemicals that are leading to obesity. If they are developing nations their obesity rates will be skyrocketing the more they let the same thing happen to their food. No one asks the obvious which is why on earth would people in one country get so fat? It's not like the passage of time and history meant for more would be gluttons, and same for the countries which are now fattening up where American food corporations have imported their products.
If you look at the pictures of what the world eats, the bulk and volume of the food for a week for each of these families seems to be about the same amount except for the poorest of the poor. There is a lot less processed food but even with the processed food in Europe, they forbid a lot of things being put in food here. I have even read the ingredients lists for the processed food in the international aisle, at my local large grocery store and seen a massive difference--this food from Britain, Israel and other countries.
On a message board recently, an American man wrote that he had gone to Europe for a year and lost 50lbs without even dieting. I believe him.

Both Sides: Still Wrong
My opinions about NAAFA are still the same. These seem to be two ladies who are making the new size acceptance rounds in the media. I find the lady, Jeanette DePatie, who teaches exercise fascinating. She admits later in the video, she did a marathon. I know that would not be possible for the lady, Julianne Wotasik, who is in the 400s sitting next to her. Julianne seems to be a well spoken and put together woman, but she is going down the wrong path, she is already super-sized and it saddens me they even forced her to sit awkwardly up on those high stools. Exercise is a good thing and fighting weight discrimination, both of those I do agree on but as I have said before, why accept a health condition that is so painful? The "Fat Shame" side and "We Must Love our Fat" side all work with each other.
Meme Roth just spouts the same nonsense, but then she is just the other side of the coin as I have said before: Both sides are WRONG.

"Conspiracy Theory"
Conspiracy Theory
Fierce Fatties explores the theories about fat....
"Do you know what came onto the farming scene about 23 years before that report came out? Monsanto’s genetically-modified crops. I’m not talking about crops that were now drought resistant by selective breeding or cross breeding, I mean crops that could never mutate on their own made into -icide resistant or -icide producing plants (e.g., herbicide, pesticide). I mean plants that had their DNA drastically altered and plants that were never tested in any long-term studies except for the ongoing study done on the public by companies that stand to profit from said plants. Monsanto has gone to great lengths to suppress or make illegal any study done on their crops; however, studies that have been done do not show good results. However, it’s not like we can dodge these crops. Monsanto controls 93% of soybean crops, 86% of corn crops, 93% of cotton crops, and 93% of canola seed crops in the United States alone. Corn and soy and their derivatives make up 40% of the typical American’s daily diet."
Hey let's break it down, something more is going on....
Can they tell the world anymore, that everyone is an overeating glutton when the numbers of people getting fat is so large? People are not just plumping up a little bit, they are getting FAT! I almost died because doctors would not believe WHY I was gaining weight. Even now the battle is on to get to the core root of the kidney stones, and why am I having to deal with so many limited thinkers? I had not just dozens of the things but HUNDREDS when added it up. I have told them my theories but no one is investigating or nod their heads and give me medicines that deal with the immediate problem but explore no further. I even read the other day parathyroid problems which I have had, create kidney stones. Am I crazy to say "Get to the root cause!?" I'm tired, one does not expect mouth breathers among the medical profession. One even told me, "you are very smart", but then I think "Why do you NOT listen?" The guy who coined this saying affected medicine in some averse ways... "When you hear hoofbeats, think of horses not zebras".[2]" But you see they have been trained to focus on the lower common denominators, so when a zebra passes by, they miss it.
Well with OBESITY, the zebras are IN YOUR FACE.
At least there are a few scientists thinking and saying, hey when 40% or MORE of a population is rapidly fattening up, more is going on then everyone just waking up and deciding to be a bunch of fat overeating pigs!
Part of the dumbing down of our society includes this limited thinking, this not exploring things further, taking the experts, often who have their own agendas in the mix and their words for granted.
For example, look over there, as America decides to enter another war it cannot afford.
Did you know Cheney and pals listed Syria along with Libya and a few other countries even when Bush came along? Is it by chance they have ended up all on the "war list"? Iran was listed too, just so you know. Which side are we on again? Ah, some may call you crazy, but they made their plans known years ago in "Project for a New American Century". Obama is just the puppet. You think he cares about our declining infrastructure and collapsing economy as he has this country enter another would be war? Hey some will scream "Tin-hatter!" and they often have about 9-11 long ago. Same for obesity. Same for our crooked banking and financial system as they print money that has no backing. Same for a wide variety of other topics. America is going to be paying a high price for it's descent into Idiocracy and controlled thinking.
The thinking about obesity is CONTROLLED just like everything else....
As I have written here...
"Seeing Through the Obesity Lies"
"Even in the fat world, we got the two sides just like we have the two fake parties advancing globalism and the dismantling of the America economy when it comes to obesity we have "the good cop" side of extreme "size acceptance"--"learn to love your fat, accept your new fat reality and be happy about it" vs. the "bad cop" Diet industrial complex: "You obese people are lazy sloths and gluttons and responsible for your horrible bodies gone amuck!".
Yes, I do feel like the lone voice out there though there are some supporters and those who think the way I do, our point of view isn't getting the dominant air play. I guess well because there's no one to profit from it. And while there are some sincere researchers who make an occasional appearance who want to get to the root of the obesity problem and actually HELP people, I dare say there are many who will NEVER ALLOW this to happen. Some can cry 'conspiracy theory", but I always found that the most silliest of terms, as if conspiracies are not exposed nightly on our news, where corruption and greed rule?"
I posted this comment to the Fierce Fatties:
I hate the term conspiracy theory, while there is a lot of nonsense out there, they have trained society like Pavlovian Dogs to shut down their minds once someone starts screaming about the tin-hatters. Critical thinking gets side stepped because no one wants to be “embarrassed” or called “crazy” and it tells to people step back in line right to the status quo. There is a lot that our media lies about as well as the diet industrial complex.
All I know is when American companies, and fast food enters a developing nation, everyone gets fatter! Did everyone suddenly give up their “will-power” and became over-eating gluttons because McDonalds and KFC showed up?
I know on my blog I address these matters quite a bit. The thin people just are less prone to obesity and probably have a mechanism in their bodies, that keeps them from getting fat [agree with the commenter about inflammation] but one thing I have noticed is far more are getting sick and autoimmune disorders. My elderly friends said their daughters and sons were far more sick. Something is going on, people are getting fatter.

Are Calories Themselves a MYTH?
Calories poorly grasped for maintaining weight:Obesity experts concerned about caloric literacy
I like Dr. Sharma's other writings and website, but disagree about calories.
To be honest, I have wondered to the shock of others, if calories are even "real". A few friends have chuckled saying, "Now Five Hundred Pound Peep, you may be getting out to lunch with this one!"
Some may wonder about me saying, that "Is she insane"? Yeah I know I am pondering something that is a bit different. Just thinking aloud. But what else would you expect of someone like me? Remember I've had enough strange health problems not to buy all the "accepted wisdom" as complete and utter fact. One day if technology and knowledge is allowed to expand anymore and it's not a new "dark age" and if the world hasn't ended by then, well one day, the facts will prove they got fat people wrong, very wrong.
But I always have had that thought lately, I mean given calories don't seem to mean a thing to my body, and I am told all this stuff about how they work, and I never see the evidence, tell me why I should believe the whole "calories in and calories out" myth? Why should I believe fewer calories mean weight loss? How many fat people do I know that worry about every little bit that crosses their mouths while so many people who are thin, just eat when hungry and let the chips fall where they may, literally.
I know EXACTLY what calories are in everything. I can sit here and add up what I ate today, and yesterday. Every fat person over the age of 25 just about knows every calorie in every food. They drum it into your head. Hey I kept endless food diaries for YEARS. Do Weight Watchers enough and the other stuff, and you got the calories memorized. Toss out a food, the portion, and I bet I can hit within 50 to 100 calories where it's at. By the way for some reason everything you eat out, has far more calories. I know what foods have more calories then others. With nutrition, given my health food interests and others, I can tell you what foods to eat for healing different diseases. This book is referred to all the time in my household.
They ignore metabolism when it comes to the CALORIES IN and CALORIES out formula, and they ignore the bodily systems that turn calories to fat so automatically and how this system is thrown off.
Hey did you know they literally figured out the calories in food, by lighting them on fire and BURNING them, I kid you not. Any hands? Even Straight Dope admits that is SIMPLICITY, but is the human body simple? NO. Also just adding up the carbohydrates, proteins and fats too seems very limited as well, given that even nutritionists admit to the existence of micro-nutrients. Hmmm, so if you don't even know everything that exists in food yet? Maybe I distrust science, or maybe I just realize so much of it today isn't as unbiased as it claims. The other day, a food company told me GMOs were safe......hmmmmmm
Do they even understand completely how this energy is utilized? Calories are a measure of "heat", by that alone the fat process is not explained.
How come no fat people ever are studied when it comes to calories?
The math never added up for me. You do realize to be 500 lbs, they expect your caloric intake to be over 10,000 calories a day. I couldn't afford the groceries. I mean they have so much of our society dedicated to calories in and calories out, and well, all the health magazines, shows, constant beration isn't stopping anyone from getting fat is it? Why do we believe something that does not work? By the way what is with those women's health magazines that tell everyone to lose weight and then put in endless recipes for things like h'ordeuvres dripping in olive oil and 20 dollar a pound fish?
I guess it's like the old days when people believed in spontaneous generation, accepted as fact, not questioned until later. They may light a pound of fat on fire and claim it that it equals 3500 calories and try and divide up the food into the simplest equations, but something isn't adding up. Feel free to disagree with me here, or that I am on too much of a stretch, this discussion is open.
Longer 'exposure' to US may raise immigrants' obesity risk
Longer 'exposure' to US may raise immigrants' obesity risk
This definitely points to environmental causes rather then reduced will power, and lack of discipline and all the lies the obesity profit merchants want to sell us. So what is different about Mexico for instance where a person may be normal and healthy and they move here and fatten up or their children fatten up without delay?

So what is different about Mexico for instance where a person may be normal and healthy and they move here and fatten up or their children fatten up without delay?
We just couldn't believe the fact that we found roughly a threefold increase from the one extreme… to the people on the other side," said the study's lead author Karen R. Florez, an associate social scientist at the non-profit research institute Rand Corporation, in Santa Monica, California.
Past research has found that immigrants to the U.S. are typically healthier in many ways than people in their ethnic groups who were born in the U.S. In February, one study found that Hispanics born abroad had a much lower risk of stroke than their counterparts who were either born or spent most of their lives in the U.S. (see Reuters Health story of March 7, 2012.)
Florez and her fellow researchers said it's also been established that U.S.-born Mexican Americans have greater odds of being obese than their family members who originally migrated from Mexico. But the team wanted to extend that comparison to people who are still living in Mexico, in an attempt to tease apart and identify factors in the U.S. environment, or in the fact of being a migrant, that might influence obesity risk.I sometimes wondered seriously if I moved to a country that outlawed GMOs and had a more sane culture and society, would some of the weight drop off? Not going to happen given my low socio-economic standing but it's one I've mulled over. Of course one knows, the poorer people in America have to eat the more adulterated food, thus that too affects the obesity rates.

Always Censored
The Burning Platform I wondered why they did not post what I had to say? The website Washington's Blog did post my comment. So I will give them that. It is interesting how many simply want to silence the 500lb woman? What do they find so disturbing about what I have to say and these are websites that dive deep into political and other controversial issues so that makes me ponder. I basically attempted to post on there what I had posted on Washington's blog.
This is a blog that has some good information so I would like to ask you PLEASE PLEASE study the issue of obesity in America far beyond the hyper-personal responsibility, "you lazy fat Americans". You are right that something MORE is going on. We are being fattened up by plan, beyond those like myself who watch their endocrine systems collapse bombarded by a toxic, dysfunctional system. I found out that rats are fattened up PURPOSEFULLY and KNOWINGLY by lab technicians and researchers using MSG, so ask yourself why is it being poured into just about all our food?
http://fivehundredpoundpeeps.blogspot.com/2011/10/msg-is-used-to-make-lab-rats-fat-how.html http://fivehundredpoundpeeps.blogspot.com/search/label/Obesity%20Conspiracy
Add to that the GMOs--a recent study proved that they cause obesity, and the fact that ANIMALS and BABIES [who are 6 months old and unable to go buy hamburgers by the sack] are getting FATTER too. [see articles above] Americans are being fattened up by plan. The megacorporations profit off this suffering. The pharmaceutical companies will as well. People will not live as long--population control. They profit off the adulterated food and the chemicals poured into it to make it addictive. No one, absolutely NO ONE who is severely obese, CHOOSES IT, it is one of the most stigmatized positions to be in. The suffering of the results of severe obesity are beyond the pale. I have suffered them all. [by the way the size acceptance movement is no help either while they are right about treating fat people with respect as human beings, they just say accept the fat, as it piles on and is the outcome of disturbed metabolisms]
The fat people on the scooters are the canaries in the coal mine, for the garbage food, endless acute stress, and environmental toxins of a destructive culture.
You wrote this: "But when you consider that 160 million out of 232 million adults in this country are either overweight or obese, along with 11 million adolescents, there must be something more sinister behind the phenomenon. "
YES THERE IS SOMETHING SINISTER. I am fat and something is going on......

South Park and Super Fat People on Scooters
I saw part of this show the other day when channel surfing but did not watch the whole thing. I consider South Park a raunchy show but catching a glance of this show mocking fat people on scooters was troubling. I often have thought about how superfat people are viewed in our culture and the blame and more is always there, as if someone would chose to be in a scooter and fat.
Who would choose not being able to walk? I found this article too commenting on the superfat in scooters:
DECLINE, DECAY, DENIAL, DELUSION & DESPAIR
"If I wanted to be politically correct, I’d call the fat asses cruising on their “free” rascal scooters, the weight challenged disabled on their powered mobility enhancement vehicles. You know a trend has become a massive scam, when South Park dedicates an entire show to the shame of obesity and the scooter brigade. The majority of the scooter squad jamming up the boardwalk was less than 50 years old. They weren’t disabled. They were just too obese and lazy to wobble down the boardwalk to the next junk food joint. They were certainly in the right place. The Wildwood boardwalk is home to pizza topped with cheese fries, chocolate covered bacon, fried Oreos, funnel cake topped with powdered sugar, and 64 ounce sugar laced lemonade. The place would make Nanny Bloomberg’s head explode."This author is right about many aspects of our declining society, but sadly he goes along with the "lazy" fat people meme eating everything in sight. You know the one the diet industrial complex shoves down our throats every minute? Aren't the thin people too eating while on vacation at the board walk? At least he admits given America's obesity rates that something SINISTER is going on, and I left a comment and agreed I know using a scooter myself, only in large grocery stores in my case which provide them since both husband and I are too weak to lift a over 100lb scooter into the back of our van now and cannot afford a lift, that having shows like this only make my life more difficult where judgments abound. If only that "lazy" fat person would walk, people think. When I was even heavier and used my scooter, the scooter meant MORE ACTIVITY then sitting at home but such a thing is lost on most. I also got off my scooter using it to go from POINT A and B, to walk around shorter distances. If I tried to walk in a store the size of Wal-mart, I'd collapse, I could not buy things. At least now I know I could walk slowly from the back and not die, if the scooter broke down which has happened before. I use a walker, in my case making up for vertigo and balance issues that are Meniere's related. It looks like this but wider.
The sad thing even with this mobility device, one where I still have to walk and burn up all the calories these people think I should be burning, I can see some of these guardians of what is proper snarkily wondering why someone my age is using a device usually used by the advanced geriactric set.
The world already makes fun of those who have to use scooters. Check this site out "Fat People Riding Scooters" Here they especially focus on fat people getting fast food in drive-throughs. Don't they realize most of these people aren't driving and the scooter is serving as their "car"? I would say stay as far as possible from the poison called fast food but why is it a crime for fat person to eat lunch? What about all the thin people eating there?
What do these shows say about fat people? Fat people are presented as lazy blobs who eat everything in sight. To be frank with my readership, there is nothing more frightening then losing the ability to walk. One's heavy body then is source of untold suffering. When I hurt my leg some months ago, my immobility frightened me, after being fat this long, I've learned to take pain dragging myself along. Who would choose being chained to a scooter just to make it across a store? Most places too, are NOT scooter accessible either. The fat people stuck on the scooters, most wish they could walk like the thin people. I walked for fun for miles before my weight gain. I miss it.
Anyhow sad to say TV land just added to the burden of us all.

Corporate Food Masters Busy Trying To Fatten Up The Rest of the World
I guess our American corporate food masters are trying to fatten up the rest of the world. So in Middle Eastern cultures where they have parsley, tomato, onion and cucumber salads and baked chicken and hummus, they want you to wipe that away for an orgy of cream cheese in fried dough hooked onto a pizza filled with more cheese. You got to be kidding me.

Programmed to Be Fat! Man Made Chemicals Are Making Us Fatter!
Programmed to Be Fat
second link here too:
Programmed to Be Fat?
But a small group of scientists have begun looking beyond the obvious because of a group that can’t chew, let alone jog: infant obesity rose more than 70 per cent in just 20 years. You can’t blame them for unhealthy lifestyles. The scientists suspect that, starting in the womb, man-made chemicals may be triggering changes to our metabolism that result in life-long weight gain.
Programmed to be Fat? tells the stories of three scientists whose unexpected findings led them to follow the research of a curious doctor in Scotland, baffled by her inability to lose weight. For three years she pored over existing research on environmental chemicals and finally published a key study in an alternative medicine journal. It linked endocrine-disrupting chemicals to the obesity epidemic. The scientists came across the paper while puzzling over their own research results. None of their studies were about fat, but they had two things in common – they were all researching endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and they all ended up with unusually heavy lab animals.
Check out the comments on this one, some very interesting points I have been making for years on this blog.
What serves corporate interests better than expanding market share by chemically arranging for appetites and waists to swell and metabolisms and built-in safeguards to malfunction?
Are there still people who believe that the obesity epidemic and contributing endocrine disruptors just "happened"? That they "happened" to take place during the period in which checks and balances on corporate abuses of consumer trust were progressively gutted or removed entirely?
And now, after the epidemic has caused so much personal distress, Science has finally, miraculously uncovered the biochemical mechanisms responsible — as though environmentalists had not been warning us about them for decades?
There's an alternative approach to waiting for belated scientific revelations: Don't eat "edible food-like substances" (Michael Pollan) that corporations have been pushing and propagandizing. Don't accept that your food and drink must be packaged in ways that put cost reduction first and consider long-term health and environmental consequences last.
and
EA Helwick:
"Yes, the endocrine disruptors are playing a major role in the obesity epidemic by mimicking thyroid and gloming to the receptors thus preventing the normal T3 connection. Certain chemicals that accumulate in babies are creating oxidative phosphorlation, which is causing mitochondria dysfunction. Several key satiety hormones are also being turned off thus leaving on the urge to consume more food. It's not the food guys, but rather what's in the food and water we are consuming.
I am the co-author of a groundbreaking book due out mid 2012 that turns conventional wisdom completely upside down when it comes to obesity, diabetes-2, insulin resistance, and metabolic syndrome. And yes, the need to move away from highly sprayed and treated fruits and vegetables with pesticides represents ground zero. We are rapidly approaching the point where we cannot afford not to bite the bullet and shift to organic foods. And yes, new borns who are feeding off mom's fat reserves have at least 300 known toxic chemicals in their body at the time of birth, which play an important role in altering the expression of various genes (epigenetics)."
I had major chemical exposure, cleaning jobs, work in factories around printing and manufacturing of plastics, and I was an art teacher, that was around oil paint, paint thinner and clays. I believe everyone however in general is being exposed to major toxins and endocrine disruptors and these scientists are on to something.
Look, we are being lied too about the calories in, calories out thing, something more is going on. I am glad there are some honest researchers out there.

"Everything is You Fat American's Fault!"
WHO Declares American Weight Problem Draining World’s Resources
American's can't win. Ever notice how all the globalists of the world always blame Americans for all the world's problems? They want us to imagine the entire world as being nothing but starving people in huts, while all Americans are supposedly wealthy with a giant gas guzzling Cadillacs and palacial McMansions. Maybe some of these eat lobster while the street urchin starve types actually should visit America and come out of stereotype land. Dallas was a TV show, not reality!
Over and over we are told we supposedly eat all the food, and use up all the resources. Note to those who have been programmed by this nonsense, our population is something like only 1/8ths of China's and even less when it comes to India. Do not believe everything you are told. Africa does have modern cities. China actually looks like they entered the 21st century. as America infrastructure crumbles and got even a "D" by our own engineers. Does Shanghai look like it is going without food, flush toilets, elevators and the use of gasoline? Why do Americans still buy all the lies about the rest of the world as if every billion of people in China were all "green" and living in a hut, and that we are the only modern nation on planet earth?
Americans are being lied to on so many fronts. That way they can sell things like Agenda 21, and give more power to the mega-corporations and elites.
As the Activist article points out, yes now they are complaining about the fat people putting too much weight on planet earth. No I am not kidding! AND the FOCUS IS ON AMERICAN PEOPLE!
Read HERE. What next telling us that "all you lazy fat Americans" are going to throw the planet's orbit off it's axis? Do you all know how much the world weighs? Remember my warnings about pseudo science, and how it is used to manipulate and influence!
Why do people even listen to these globalist psychopaths in their desire to have everyone reduce their lifestyles to "save the planet"? Is this to help the populace fully embrace their new downgraded lifestyles of living in pods and eating Soylent Green? Does anyone see the greater agendas here? These folks desire control over the world's resources, and given the fat people in America, how they ignore what is causing all the obesity. As I have said PROFIT lies in fattening us up.
Does anyone seriously think the mega-monolith corporations care about poisoned air and water? Does anyone seriously think the WHO cares about our health when they float this type of garbage? I sure don't.
To me its just more making the fat people the scapegoats again.
This commenter got it right:
As a sociologist who has researched fat stigma for decades, I find this laughable! I have been saying for years that obesity is being scapegoated for every conceivable problem while the rich pillage, plunder and rob us blind
I found this guy's comment of interest too.
i ate double in Europe what i eat here and LOST weight without trying ot desiring to do so- while not exercising.
Hey I am not surprised growth hormones in the meat is illegal in Europe.
Of course the World Health Organization ignores things like that. Their focus is on DIET and EXERCISE. I don't want to link to them but seriously GOOGLE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION and obesity and GO RIGHT TO THEIR WEBSITE. It's funny when these absurd globalists who eat their lobster and foix gras, at their endless sustainable development conferences, point out NORTH KOREA, as one of the BEST NATIONS, because everyone is THIN. Note NORTH KOREANS ARE STARVING and have lived under a dictator for decades.
I do believe there is an obesity epidemic even worldwide, but they are not dealing with the true causes or those who wish to profit it from it or use it for another agenda. The world is getting fat from the GMO food, MSG and garbage and toxins. Of course they will not deal with those issues.
Fat people, the new scapegoats, supposedly we are ruining the environment too. Hey forget those pouring the chemicals into the water supply, blame the fat guy! That is exactly what they are doing.
Americans are being so duped.

Dr. Phil Show: World's Biggest Bride: Confessions of an 800-Pound Woman
I have posted about Susanne Eman before...
see:
"Dying to the Fattest Woman on Dr. Oz"
I have to admit, I tried to watch this show, but got too disgusted dealing with some of my own issues and health problems, didn't feel like listening to Dr. Phil castigate fat people for "committing slow suicide" which he kept repeating over and over. The thing that is so sad about this, is this lady who has participated in this circus side show, will help perpetuate stereotypes about the overweight that we all overeat, and that we have chosen our fate, through her would be feederism participation. Here we see the false notion that most people choose to be ultra-obese advanced. Also I saw the part where she showed utter delusion about her obesity as if she was "healthy", I thought to myself here is more of the Obesity Hegelian Dialectic! I think even having the sister claim she eats healthy, was to help to add to the confusion and to help silence us fat people who are trying to get help beyond the EAT LESS mantras.
I tried to write on the Dr. Phil message boards, a response and sticking up for people in my position but they censored it and would not post it. Guess I am not surprised.

How the Obesity Policies are FAILING
Obesity, Disease, Politics & Power
So, why do I feel apprehensive about this national strategy to combat obesity?
Does America really need a national strategy to combat obesity?
Does the USDA need expanded powers over national nutrition standards?
Does Medicare require additional funding for obesity-related coverage?
At present, the USDA heavily subsidizes the very foods that have driven the rise in obesity.
Instead of giving them more power, perhaps they could be encouraged to shift their funding away from corn, wheat, rice, soy & sugar and towards fruits, vegetables and animal proteins that provide a better nutrient to calorie ratio.
Instead of classifying obesity as a disease and increasing medicare funding to include more obesity drug prescriptions and surgeries, perhaps the government could shift some money away from obesity treatment and towards obesity prevention.
Those are the types of big government initiatives that I could get behind.
I don't agree with all of this article, in that I do not believe government is going to be able to fix the problem of obesity, in fact even the idea that government can *fix* obesity seems odd to me. We know in fact obesity has WORSENED via the subsidies listed above. The last thing we need in our "Big Brother" society is more government telling citizens what to eat, when to exercise and what to do. It's simply not going to work. The way all the obesity epidemic outcry is going, what next fat camps?
If they really wanted to fix obesity, and well let's just say have our society be a healthier place, I think many of the changes are inherent ones and ones that would be directed from concerned individuals, ie NOT WAITING FOR THE EXPERTS OR THE CORPORATIONS that profit off all the bad food...
That said, question those experts, corporations and medicos. Why do we all take their word for granted when profits are part of the game? Why should I believe them myself? I was literally almost DEAD at near 700lbs and had to beg and fight for my own life because no one would listen.
We need to question overly mobile lifestyles, where people move all the time and the breaking down social connections. Yes those affect obesity. The more social you are the more active you are. The more social you are, the more healthy food and eating habits. Eating a greasy hamburger in your car while rushing to work does not count as a healthy meal.
We need to question a society that has become so virtual and the disappearance of true leisure--remember the 1970s when people still went outside? OK, I am being facetious here, I know it but some of you will know what I mean.
Maybe they should invent something more exciting then just pretty boxes with lots of graphics for us to sit around and look at.
We need to question a society where so many are relegated to living in little boxes next to sculpted parking lots. How about the people who live in neighborhoods where leaving one's apt means constant stress, hassle or even danger?
They need to return to the metabolic realities of weight and really listen to those who have especially crossed the line of extreme weight, why is this happening to some people and not to others? What is going awry in our bodies?
We need to re-haul the food. Those with money can already make this a part of their lives. There is the local food movement and others where one can find the information. Some of us have the knowledge but not the cash, and that can be torture, seeing the healthy and whole food that would return at least some health to our bodies out of reach except in drips and drabbles. I ask myself all the time, why does having a lower amount of money mean always having to eat crummier food? Yes one can get some cheap broccoli, and carrots for low money but I am talking about having a meal with some ingredients beyond "survival eating". Why does a cheaper meal at a restaurant always mean a cheese-coated disgusting crummy-MSG laden meal?
We need to want REAL food again instead of garbage in brightly shiny colored boxes. People need to go back to gardening and we need community gardens for people who have no land.
We need more healthy lifestyles, where people have a connection to one another and a place to be. This society has too many disposable people where if you are not healthy, thin, fit,or well off enough you get relegated to the edges of society. Millions live with no place, no niche and no belonging and INACTIVITY accompanies all that. In my case I try to live my life being connected to my community and fighting this as much as I can via volunteer work, the arts, etc,. Why are so many being relegated to the fringes and given no place?
Our economy does not work for our well-being. Why aren't people being taught HOW TO DO things in school anymore? Our children are sat in front of books given Ritalin to remain quiet enough and then told, to be fit? How does that work? Does that make any sense?
Why aren't we taught to build, do and fix things? Why is that relegated to only very few groups in society anymore? Why don't I know how to grow a garden? Why don't I know how to sew? These things bug me. How did I get to this age and end up with so few skills? These are things I want to fix.
Sadly today as everything has gotten more expensive, it costs money to do anything. Soon they may charge us even to breathe, the way things are going. Lack of money outside of great initiative in finding volunteer work or groups to join, often means NO MONEY TO DO.
If a society functions on making people just passive consumers, who do not ever make, grow, or do anything--seriously, but CONSUME and take in, how does one maintain a healthy weight in that atmosphere? The other day, I told someone "I wish I had a workshop" and what ever happened to CRAFTSMANSHIP?
Even our activity now is like retarded repetition, get on the treadmill if you can afford the gym and WALK TO NOWHERE. Lift those cans up and down. Up and down....blah blah blah. Why don't we have more real things to do? Why has real leisure and DOING been relegated to the wealthier classes? Part of me thinks we would have all been better off staying on the farm, though I am too far gone for that now.
We need to keep our families together. We need to go back to where family counted above economic nomadism for jobs. Wouldn't I be more active seeing nieces and nephews on a day to day basis instead of once a year? This goes back to the earlier social aspects.
Real research needs done on the effects of stress. Stress, cortisol go together as I have written on "The real causes of the obesity epidemic". essay. People, if they are employed, are over-worked. Everyone I talk to says they are over-stressed with too many demands. They seem to take this stress as a given rather then desiring a simpler way of life. Very few question the mad making busy-busy go-go of this society, where so many are almost racing in circles. They may be right that the noose has been drawn tighter, economical survival is more dear, but it is something I would like people to think about.
Keeping people on an ever-spinning hamster wheel is not helping their health. I think this is one of the biggest influences as to why everyone is getting fat and unable to maintain healthy weights. People didn't stay skinnier in the old days, because they were more "responsible" and "better people", moral failings existed then too, the system allowed it more.
The toxins need examined, they ARE finding out the plastics, chemicals and more are AFFECTING the OBESITY. I have posted dozen of articles on this matter on this blog. You ever see the obesity initiatives addressing this issue? I sure don't.
And well
THEY NEED TO STOP HOUNDING PEOPLE and telling them lies, that if they simply starve themselves and "move" more that they will automatically become thinner. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over when it does not work? Do they think all those fat kids they want to help WANT TO BE FAT?
For many people that is SIMPLY NOT WORKING.
I of course don't have all the answers. The above is just my thoughts. I see obesity as a symptom of a society that has lost a healthy way of life overall. For me obesity was a symptom of extreme stress, and endocrine disease, applying my experience to the big picture, people are getting fatter because of the world and society they live in. We have never had a society like this one before and it is showing the affects in people's health. I do not see a mega corporation or bigger government solving the problem. People need to rethink their priorities overall. People need to say we need REAL ANSWERS NOT LIES.

Fat Nation: Future Gulags for the Fat?
Some time ago I posted this...
"It's the Fat Camp for You Comrade!" [read it for context for the article]
Remember they always blame the individual...
instead of admitting that modern American life stinks!
The corporations and powers that be PROFIT off the fat. They will pretend they want to "help" but look at the issues I cover on this blog, nothing except for a few rare researchers are dealing with anything honestly.
"Obesity will crush the United States into oblivion"....one guy says.
No obesity [for those who have become ill from it] is a SYMPTON of a sick culture...
a culture where people live under constant unrelenting stress.
a culture where social networks and social contracts have broken down
a culture where most are forced to eat GMO and Frankenfood that is sold to us full of sugar and fat and goodness knows what else.
a culture where at least half the people struggle to make ends meet
a culture where leisure, free time for many has been destroyed
a culture with a broken health care system
Whose going to be healthy in this place?
I wish Americans would admit something is wrong with the culture, rather then striking their breasts and yelling mea culpa!
But then that wouldn't make these folks any money.....
Civil liberties are DISAPPEARING in this country. While people bow at the feet of Obama, and imagine him to be a classic "liberal", his signing of bills that have limited free speech like HR 347 and the would be dystopian horror of NDAA show what he is really about. Google is your friend become an informed citizen. Neither party cares about your freedom either in case someone thinks I am ready to throw my hat in the ring for Romney. I'm not.
So thinking about the disappearance of civil liberties and the fat, one wonders where things could go.....
Fat people are already rendered second class citizen, with defacto class warfare, keeping the fatter lower classes, down just because they are more overweight.
Will people one day be fined for being fat? Have a ration card for eating?
The global elites and others who fund such documentaries know what they are doing. There of course is NOTHING about what is being added to the food and the inherent issues.

"Animals and 6-Month-Old Infants Are Getting Fatter … Which Mean that It’s Something In the Environment"
This is a MUST-READ. Please read the entire article at the link!
These studies prove we are all being bamboozled by the "IT'S YOUR Lack of Willpower!" lies
Animals and 6-Month-Old Infants Are Getting Fatter … Which Mean that It’s Something In the Environment
The animals are getting fatter too!
We’ve extensively documented that toxic chemicals in our food, water and air our causing an epidemic of obesity … even in 6 month old infants.
No matter how lazy and gluttonous adults may have become recently, 6-month-olds can’t be lazy … they can’t even walk, let alone go to the gym.
And 6-month-olds can’t “binge” … Gerber doesn’t make corn dogs or milk chocolate truffles with rum.
The same thing is being observed in animals … hardly your stereotypical couch potatoes.
Specifically, the Proceeding of the Royal Society published a scientific paper in 2010 showing that animals – as well as humans – are getting hit with more obesity:
Another article discussing the fattening of animals including even lab animals who have a controlled diet.

The Real Cause of the Global Obesity Epidemic
"The REAL Cause of the Global Obesity Epidemic"
This is a very interesting article. I have printed snippets but please go see the whole thing, at the link.
I didn't know even the young babies were getting fatter...[which as this article says means something is going on beyond bad behavior and lowered will-power. A three month old is not old enough to go nosh down the french fries and hamburgers.
and
I agree, this is the foundation of the Obesity Conspiracy I refer to, also this is what I am talking about when I say size acceptance when it advances FAT, instead of FAT PEOPLE is actually advancing this agenda. After all if fat people are going to be told, ACCEPT YOUR FAT, why would anyone ask any of these questions? The profiteers continue untouched and the profit mill keeps running on. For you see it helps them to blame the victims rather then let truth be told:
Years ago, I wrote this essay...circa 2001.
"The Real Causes of the Obesity Epidemic"
I found out about PCB, and found even that study buried at Pubmed, there are many more of them. Looks like some others are asking those hard questions too! I need to explore that arsenic thing too.

[Bad habits] cannot explain the ballooning of one particular segment of the population, a segment that doesn’t go to movies, can’t chew, and was never that much into exercise: babies. In 2006 scientists at the Harvard School of Public Health reported that the prevalence of obesity in infants under 6 months had risen 73 percent since 1980. “This epidemic of obese 6-month-olds,” as endocrinologist Robert Lustig of the University of California, San Francisco, calls it, poses a problem for conventional explanations of the fattening of America. “Since they’re eating only formula or breast milk, and never exactly got a lot of exercise, the obvious explanations for obesity don’t work for babies,” he points out. “You have to look beyond the obvious.”
The search for the non-obvious has led to a familiar villain: early-life exposure to traces of chemicals in the environment. Evidence has been steadily accumulating that certain hormone-mimicking pollutants, ubiquitous in the food chain, have two previously unsuspected effects. They act on genes in the developing fetus and newborn to turn more precursor cells into fat cells, which stay with you for life. And they may alter metabolic rate, so that the body hoards calories rather than burning them, like a physiological Scrooge. “The evidence now emerging says that being overweight is not just the result of personal choices about what you eat, combined with inactivity,” says Retha Newbold of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in North Carolina, part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). “Exposure to environmental chemicals during development may be contributing to the obesity epidemicAs you can see they get into many issues, I have discussed before on this blog. For goodness sakes what are they doing to our food? FATTENING UP CHICKENS AND PIGS WITH ARSENIC?
Pthalates – commonly used in many plastics – have been linked to obesity. See this and this. So has a chemical used to make Teflon and other products.
Most of the meat we eat these days contains estrogen, antibiotics and powerful chemicals which change hormone levels. Modern corn-fed beef also contains much higher levels of saturated fat than grass-fed beef. So the meat we are eating is also making us fat.
Antibiotics also used to be handed out like candy by doctors. However, ingesting too many antibiotics has also been linked to obesity, as it kills helpful intestinal bacteria. See this and this.
Arsenic may also be linked with obesity, via it’s effect on the thyroid gland. Arsenic is often fed to chickens and pigs to fatten them up, and we end up ingesting it on our dinner plate. It’s ending up in other foods as well.
The National Research Council has also found:
The effects of fluoride on various aspects of endocrine function should be examined further, particularly with respect to a possible role in the development of several diseases or mental states in the United States.
Some hypothesize that too much fluoride affects the thyroid gland, which may in turn lead to weight gain.
and
In the same way that the financial crisis, BP oil spill and Fukushima nuclear disaster were caused by fraud and greed, we are daily exposed to obesity-causing chemicals because companies
make an extra buck by lying about what is in their product, cutting every corner in the book, and escaping any consequences for their health-damaging actions.
In fattening their bottom line, the fat cats are creating an epidemic of obesity for the little guy.
"The Real Causes of the Obesity Epidemic"
Poisoned Endocrine Systems: Bloating Bodies
There is a basic increase in endocrine diseases due to environmental poisonings. Higher estrogen in the environment is leading to smaller sperm counts and now one in every seven couples is infertile. This is something never seen before. Hormonal diseases that used to be rare, like PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), hypothyroidism and diabetes are now worsening in number. Scientists alone have identified 51 synthetic chemicals in our environment that disrupt hormones. Some mimic estrogen, which is a hormone that adds weight, especially in women, and others conflict with testosterone and thyroid. Among them include everything from PCBs, Dioxin and Furans, many from heavily-used pesticides on our food supply.
Girls are even entering puberty earlier due to these factors, which is leading to higher body weights at early ages. The obesity epidemic has been blamed on higher rates of weight due to the increased insulin (the cart before the horse syndrome again) and leptin from the fat cells. However, the article "Teens Before Their Time" in Time magazine points out:
"The most prominent effect, reported last spring in the Journal of Pediatrics, was the boys exposed to DDE and girls exposed to PCBs were heavier than their unexposed peers at age 14. The study also noted an intriguing fact: girls with high prenatal PCB exposure tended to hit the first stages of puberty a bit earlier than others."
I found out about PCB, and found even that study buried at Pubmed, there are many more of them. Looks like some others are asking those hard questions too! I need to explore that arsenic thing too.
