Blue Bird Painting

  1. That's really nice. I recently picked up, from one of my local little free libraries, a book called "The Field Guide To The Dumb Birds Of North America" which is basically art much worse than yours and stupid jokes and puns about butts and poop. I thought it's a pretty un-funny book, frankly, and looked it up - bestseller.

    1. Hi thanks Alex.

      Wow highly rated on Amazon.

The humor seems warped and kind of creepy. Hmm makes me wonder if the technocrats are trying to create a hatred of the natural world.

    2. Yeah, I think you nailed it. It's not "cool" to like Nature these days, who needs Nature when you've got computers and video games? Even now, I wish I'd gone to college for biology instead of tech. I'd have been poor as hell, but in tech I've never been anything but poor as hell anyway.

    3. I feel like the 1 percent would love to pave over the entire earth and turn us into robots at this point. Makes me wonder about the whole thing with removing nature in general from our lives. Mankind could be playing with extinction in my opinion forgetting humans are of this earth and part of nature. I am thinking of the book Ishmael, there's a point where mankind is so much into dominating things, they wish to dominate nature even to the level of destroying themselves. Understand you wishing you had chosen biology instead of tech. I enjoy tech, I mean I am on here with the internet, but I feel like it's destroying us. There's a point maybe we should say ENOUGH. I think they are lying to the young about how STEM career will mean instant wealth and I wonder about the void of naturalism and true liberal arts and what that is doing to minds and emotions too.

  2. You may be onto something. Laughing at "those rubes out in the sticks" has long been a staple of popular culture -- look at the premise of The Beverly Hillbillies, whose humor derived from its constant jeering at the Clampetts' surroundings. Who would want to live there, went the implication, when the people were so weird to begin with? It's the same message you see over and over again, in movies like Badlands and Deliverance, as if rural folk are strange for not liking the things that "city folk" put such a premium on. --Mr. Peep

    1. Hey remember when our one friend went on about the rural and urban divide? The rubes want some humanity left and down to earth stuff to remain, they don't want to be robots gliding through their cold white enamel apartment on wheels. They want to stay human. Think about how they want to deaden everyone's emotions, even Victorians like Ruskin and also Thoureau used to warn about the divide between man and nature. Rural folks tend to want to do more of their own thing. Of course they don't envision punks and artists as the future of their glorified World Economic forum 'you own nothing" "great reset" cities but laptop wearing glorified bean counters, who do everything they are told and have no messy emotions left.
