The Economy

Actually 17-20 an hour is really good. Most are making even less around here under 10 dollars an hour, but this does show how life has really changed. If you ever get a chance look at a magazine from the 1980s, it will blow your mind bringing back to mind just the knickknacks and things people spent their money on back then, the expendable income levels were far higher. The prices have gone far higher then the wages have. Globalism is a failure.

  1. The old economy is much better than the new economy. I'm still praying for old for everyone so we could have better lives without having to be narcs or evil in order to have good lives.

The last job paid me $11 per hour without benefits. It was a contracted job that would have been permanent if economy was better and employers could keep more check processors. My job was not outsourced but it was cutback due to lack of businesses. In my area, many factory jobs had been outsourced since the early 2000s. :(

    1. I agree the old economy was better. I am reading Richard Putnam's book Our Kids, which talks about how opportunities are no longer there for the majority of the USA population and how there is a thin sliver of wealthy who can move up and the rest are falling down the ladder. My last job as a residential counselor paid 11.52 an hour, it wasnt much in Chicago and they took out tons of taxes, but I realized last year they were paying residential counselors 8 dollars an hour and prices are far higher and it's nearly 20 years later. Newspapers when I helped to job hunt for my husband before he got too ill, still paid in 2008/9/10 and even now what they did in the early 90s. Our life was economically destroyed for good by the guy who fired husband from the ad writer job, that paid better, but it was a working class salary. [around 12-13 an hour] Most jobs in my town pay UNDER 10 dollars an hour, finding one over 10 is exceptional even now and it is probably only some trade people and professionals who make over it. When young people even ask what should they do for a career, what do you tell them. Most fields have been decimated. Technology even took a lot of things out. Even to get a job of any kind seems to take connections and so much luck as it is all about a "weed-out" process. My husband even had to know people to get some of the freelance stuff.

  2. I'm afraid things are not going to be getting better, even with prayer. It is my opinion, but if we are going to be praying with bible scripture, as we are told to do, then we must accept the inevitable, things will not be getting better.

    1. I believe things are going to get worse. Think global economic collapse. Years ago I thought the same as the Alex Joneses and "conspiracy" people there'd be one day the banking system would crash but then realized they don't want the sheeple waking up and protesting so now I think they plan a long slow decline in implementing the neo-feudal system. It's funny how people accept such low pay and crushing bills that would have had them protesting in the streets years ago. The Bible seems to warn in bible prophecy of major economic oppression that makes the first Great Depression look like nothing. As it is, the evil people running this world seem to be lusting for more and more war. I'll never regret walking out of that church on that alone.

    2. I can't get over how people are just accepting the low standard of living. You are right, they would have been protesting years ago. I know it is written that if we don't work, we shouldn't eat, but gee try to find the work in order to obey that scripture. Times have changed, and we should be fighting for the right to have work and jobs so that we can obey that scripture.

    3. I don't get it either. Even what happened to my husband I will never understand and it makes no sense to me. It's like they want everyone living in the streets and there is this thin sliver of connected types who are utterly clueless who do nothing but condemn us. Yeah I heard that one sure preached on in Republican loving churches more then anything about the oppression of the poor. One thing got old was hearing the minister rail about people on disability and welfare, and then praise war in the next sentence. I agree, the jobs have become an utter joke now and barely pay anything even if you can get one.
